Infrastructure in a Nutshell

The new version of VirtIO is available, and here are the new features and bug fixes!

What’s New

The “null” QEMU driver has been replaced with a fully functional FwCfg device, allowing the collection of Windows virtual machine core dumps directly on AHV hosts.

Added a new configuration button: you can now adjust the number of I/O requests processed before retrying when the virtual queue is full, giving you greater control over I/O behavior.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an annoying issue that caused Windows virtual machines to hang after unmounting the disk. Operations will now be smooth.

Good to Know

This new version is fully compatible with all supported AOS and AHV versions.

It is available for download here: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/downloads/?product=ahv&version=1.2.5&bit=VirtIO

Older versions are still available on the Nutanix Support Portal, under Downloads > AHV > VirtIO > Other Versions.

For installation assistance, see the AHV Administration Guide.
