Recently, my Ubiquiti USW-Pro-24-PoE switch had some connection issues with my Unifi console.

Following an unexpected power cut, my Ubiquiti USW-Pro-24-PoE switch was working fine but was no longer visible among the devices on the Unifi management interface :

During the last connection to the Unifi interface, I had a popup offering me to adopt the switch as if it were new hardware but without success :

To solve this problem, I started by restarting the switch and updating all the hardware with the management console. Unfortunately, this had no effect on my problem..

I therefore resolved to carry out a factory reset of the switch’s configuration which allowed me to recover access in SSH with the default login/password : ubnt/ubnt.

Then, I proceeded to update the switch with the command :

upgrade DIRECT_URL

The DIRECT_URL of the latest firmware you need can be retrieved here : https://www.ui.com/download/unifi

To force adoption, I ran the following command :

USW-Pro-24-PoE-US.6.4.18# set-inform http://192.168.2.254:8080/inform

The switch tell that you have to go to the controller interface to finalize the adoption :

Adoption request sent to 'http://192.168.2.254:8080/inform'. Use the controller to complete the adopt process.

The adoption process then proceeded as planned with automatic configuration provisioning :

I then reconnected in SSH to check the status of the switch :

I could see that the Unifi console address remained default. So I proceeded to configure it manually via the following command :

USW-Pro-24-PoE-US.6.4.18# set-inform http://ADRESSE_IP_CONTROLEUR_UNIFI:8080/inform

Then I checked again that everything was configured correctly :

I can now manage my switch from the Unifi console which now displays correct topology information.
